There are three muscles that make up the triceps. They are the long head, medial head, and lateral head. The function of the triceps is to extend the elbow. So any time you push a door closed, throw a ball, or put something away in a cabinet, your triceps are involved.
The following are instructions for performing the one arm cable triceps extension from a kneeling position:
Begin by kneeling down on an exercise mat. If you wish to work your right arm, then your right knee will need to be propped up and used for leverage. Grab the cable handle with an underhand grip, then place your elbow on the inside of your knee. This is the starting position. Lastly, extend your elbow downward until the arm is straight. Your elbow should never move away from the inside of the knee. Always keep it stationary, as it will always ensure proper form. Repeat the exercise as needed.
Step 1
Grasp cable handle with underhand grip. Place elbow on inside knee.
